What to Expect During Your First Professional House Cleaning Appointment 

So, you’ve decided to treat yourself (and your home!) to a professional house cleaning service. That’s fantastic! To ensure everything goes smoothly and you get the most out of your first appointment, here’s a breakdown of what you can typically expect.

Before the Cleaning Team Arrives:

  • Declutter: While we’re happy to clean, our focus is on cleaning, not organizing. Please tidy up before we arrive. This means picking up clothes, toys, and other items. Clear countertops and tables so we can easily access surfaces.
  • Pet-Friendly Zone: If you have pets, please secure them in a safe and comfortable area. This is for their safety and the cleaning team’s. 
  • Communicate Your Needs: Let us know about any specific areas of concern or special requests you have. Clear communication ensures we meet your expectations. You can communicate this during booking or with the team upon arrival. 
  • Provide Access: Make sure that you provide property access information at booking. Failure to provide access will result in a full charge. 
  • Clear the Sink and Floors: Clear the kitchen sink of any dishes and make sure that the floors are clear of any items that could be in the way. 
  • Utilities: Make sure that the utilities are available during service. Temperature: For the comfort of the Cleaning VIPs, please set the temperature in your home to a comfortable level. During the Cleaning:

Arrival and Walk-Through (Optional): 

The cleaning team will arrive at the scheduled time. Depending on the service, they may do a quick walk-through with you to confirm your priorities.

  • Efficient Cleaning: Our team will work efficiently and professionally to clean your home according to the agreed-upon service. The team is always in communication with the office updating us about anything that is going on during the job. So if they need more time than what is actually assigned to them, they give us heads up about it and we relay the information to you.

After the Cleaning Team Leaves:

  • Dust Settling: Please be aware that dust stirred up during the cleaning process can take some time to fully settle. While we use techniques to minimize this, it’s normal for fine particles to remain airborne for a short period. Most visible dust should settle within 15-30 minutes, but the finest particles may take a few hours. 
  • 24-Hour Reclean Policy: If, for any reason, you’re not completely satisfied with any area, please contact us within 24 hours. We’ll happily return to reclean those areas. (Please note that refunds are not provided.) 

Best Day Housecleaning – Terms to keep in mind:

Cancellation/Rescheduling: To avoid a cancellation fee, please provide at least 2 days’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Same-day cancellations are subject to a 100% fee. 

Scope of Work: Upon arrival, our Cleaning Pros will assess the scope of work and may adjust it based on the actual condition of your home. 

Business Hours: Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Holidays: We are closed on major holidays. We will contact you to reschedule any services affected by holiday closures.
